On Page SEO

 Hi readers!

Welcome back.

In this blog, I will give you a synopsis of 200+ On Page factors that determines Search Engine Results Page (SERP) rank, which can be divided into:

  • Content
  • Technical
The factors determining SERP rank are as follows:

  • Relevance of the website:
It is the first thing that Google sees in a website whenever a query is asked that, is it relevant to the query or not? Google decides the relevance of a website by two major factors that are page titles and descriptions. For example, if the query is Gucci shoes, then Google sees whether this query is mentioned in page titles and descriptions or not.

  • Content on the page of the website:
Whenever a query is asked, Google checks whether the keyword is present on the content of the page or not. If a user is searching for Gucci shoes (assumption), then Google checks the variety of shoes that they have, they are fresh or not and the richness of the product. It also looks at the density of keywords which means repetition of a single word. Google doesn't like website owners repeating a keyword multiple times. For example, repeating Gucci shoes 3 to 5 times is totally fine but repeating it 20 to 30 times is a red signal to them.

  • Technical robustness of the website:
Google checks the errors in the coding of a website. If there are errors, it doesn't shows the website and if the coding is correct, its a green flag. It also checks the the loading time of the page on a website i.e. whether it loads fast or not.

  • Mobile friendliness of the website:
It is an important factor as more than 90% of the users open a website through mobile devices so Google makes sure the the website is opening properly on a mobile device, it is responsive, whether the buttons on the website are properly visible or not, whether the font is decent enough that a user can understand, whether a user can navigate easily on a website, etc.

  • Security and Privacy:
Google makes sure that the website is secure , the privacy i.e. the terms and condition should be mentioned in a website, there is no virus or malware on a website, pages are not down, etc. Ultimately, Google makes sure that the user is not getting harmed by any website.

  • Ease of navigation:
Google checks whether a user can move from one page to another page easily or not, whether there are enough buttons available, whether there is blockage in the rendering of a website, there are no pop-ups, etc.

  • Images tagged properly:

Google makes sure that all the images are tagged properly in a website as crawlers can't understand what the image is actually about.

  • Visitor's response:
Googles looks at how the visitors are responding to a website, whether the bounce rate is low or high, whether the visitor is engaging or spending time on a website or not, whether the page views on a website are high or not, etc.

So, all these factors play a vital role in determining the rank of a website on the Search Engine Results Page.

See you until next time.
