What is Digital Marketing, Web Presence and Mobile Application?

Welcome to my first Blog post. 


DIGITAL MARKETING

It is essentially a way to connect brands to the consumers through various platforms such as Twitter, Google, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, etc. It is a connection business where the brands and products connect to the users.

A brand needs to create a Web Presence.

WEB PRESENCE

It refers to a location where a person, business or organization is represented on the web. Web tells about the product and services that are offered. There are different kinds of Web Presence like a website, blog , app or any social media page. 

It is the stage of your business that determines the type of web presence you want to operate on, so that your brand can interact with its users and customers.

Adding every kind of Web Presence will cost you a reasonable amount of money. So, its important that you start small as a brand and then expand it in future.

  • Website
  • Mobile Website
  • Mobile Application
  • Social Media Presence
  • Blog
Three Assets:

  • Mobile App
  • Mobile Site
  • Desktop Website
When you don't have huge amount of  money to have all that assets / Resource Constraint Model:

Instead of having two websites i.e. mobile and desktop websites, you can either have one website which is adaptive as well as responsive which adapts its size according to the screen size. It's main advantage is that user experience is well maintained as the images shown in the website will be  the same on all devices that vary in sizes.

MOBILE APPLICATION

There are three types of Mobile Applications - Native App, Mobile Web App and Hybrid App.

  • Native App - it refers to setting up or building a separate App or operating systems . Like setting a separate App for IOS device , or an Android device or a Windows device. It is coded in specific programming language, gives fast performance and has high reliability. It is easy to download.
  • Mobile Web App -  it is searched on google with a URL. For eg: m.amazon.com , it is not an App but it looks and feels like an App. 
  • Hybrid App - this App looks and feels like a Native App but its revenue expenditure is much lesser than the Native App, it can be downloaded from the App store, it works like a Native App but its features are much lesser than the Native App and it is easy to develop. It is a part native and part web, and also allows cross platform development.
